Policy Scope

All Dubu Dubu users, including Riders and Drivers (including Driver applicants), are subject to this Policy. This policy also includes all Dubu Dubu services and platforms, including our websites, apps, features, and other services (collectively called the “Dubu Dubu Platform”). The usage of the Dubu Dubu platform is also subject to our terms of Service.

Information collected

We collect the information you provide while registering with Dubu Dubu, usage information, and information about your device when you use the Dubu Dubu Platform. We also gather information about you from third-party services and optional programmes in which you participate, which we may combine with other information on file for you. We collect the following categories of information about you:

A. Information that you give us

Registering an Account as a Rider. We collect information such as your name and phone number when you create an account with Dubu Dubu. You have the option to provide us with additional information for your Rider profile, such as stored addresses (such as your work or home), as well as to set up other details (like your gender).

Driver Details. If you apply as a Driver with Dubu Dubu, we will collect the information that you have given in your application, including your name, phone number, birth date, profile photo, physical address, government identification numbers such as Aadhaar number and driver’s license information, vehicle details, and car insurance details. We will also collect the banking details for the payment that you provide to us, including your bank account number, and tax information. Depending on where you intend to drive, we might also need more details about your business license or permission or other documents in order to handle your driving and any programmes that apply there. At some point, after you become a Driver, we might need more details from you, such as proof of your identification (like a photo).

Communications. We gather any information you give us when you contact us or when we contact you, including the information in any communications or attachments you send.

SOS Contact Details. Contact list permission will be collected to list down the contacts while you add the SOS contacts for the user and driver app.

Feedback and Ratings. We collect all of the information you provide in your feedback when you rate and provide feedback about Drivers or Riders. 

B. Information Collected when you use the Dubu Dubu Platform

Location Information. To ensure your pick-up is accurate and on time, Depending on your Dubu Dubu app settings, device permissions, and whether you are using the platform as a Rider or Driver, the Dubu Dubu platform collects location information (including WiFi data & GPS) in different ways:

  • Riders: When you launch and use the Dubu Dubu app, including when it is open in the background while you wait for the driver to arrive and until the ride ends, we track the precise location of your device. Dubu Dubu also tracks the precise location of auto rickshaws and cabs at all times.
  • Drivers: When you open and use the app, including when it is operating in the background while you are online, we track your device’s precise location. To detect real-time ride incidents, we continue to collect precise location data until the ride finishes and when you are in Online mode.

Device Information. We collect the information about the device you use to access the Dubu Dubu platform, including device model, browser type, IP address, operating system version, the identity of carrier and manufacturer, frequency type (such as 4G), preferences and settings (such as preferred language), application installations, device identifiers, push notification tokens and advertising identifiers. We also gather mobile sensor data (such as speed, direction, height, acceleration, deceleration, and other technical information) from your smartphone if you are a Driver.

Usage Information. We gather details about how you use the Dubu Dubu Platform, such as the date, time, destination, length of the trip, route, payment method, and if you used a coupon code or referral code. We also keep track of the pages and material you view while using the Dubu Dubu Platform, including our apps and websites and the times and dates you use them.

Contacts from Address Book. You can grant access to Dubu Dubu by setting up the device permission to your contact lists and direct Dubu Dubu to access your contact list, for example, to assist you in referring friends to Dubu Dubu. If you do this, we can save the names and contact information in your address book.

Riders and Drivers Communications. We share Rider’s and Driver’s Phone number to each other to communicate about the Rides. In addition to this, we provide in-app chat options for ride related communication and these communications such as the date and time, and the contents of these messages are recorded for security reasons.

Analytics, Cookies, and Third-Party Technologies. We collect information using “cookies”, tracking pixels, data analytics tools like Google Analytics, SDKs, and other third-party technologies to understand how you navigate the Dubu Dubu Platform and engage with Dubu Dubu commercials in order to improve your Dubu Dubu experience, understand what material is popular, improve your site experience, give you better ads on other sites, and store your preferences. Cookies are little text files that web servers put on your device to save basic information and to assist websites and apps in recognising your browser. Session cookies and persistent cookies may be used. When you close your browser, a session cookie is deleted. After you close your browser, a persistent cookie remains and can be accessed each time you use the Dubu Dubu Platform. To change your cookie settings, go to your web browser(s). Please keep in mind that if you delete or refuse to accept cookies from us, you may be unable to use certain aspects of the Dubu Dubu Platform.

C. Information We Collect from Third Parties

Third-Party Services. Third-party services provide us with information that we require for essential components of the Dubu Dubu Platform, as well as for extra services, programmes, loyalty rewards, and promotions that can improve your Dubu Dubu experience. Background check providers, insurance partners, financial service providers, marketing providers, and other firms are examples of third-party services. From these third-party services, we acquire the following information about you:

  • Background check information for the Drivers to make the Dubu Dubu platform safer
  • Information regarding your participation in third-party programmes that provide services such as insurance and financial instruments, such as insurance, payment, transaction, and fraud detection data;
  • Information to implement loyalty and promotional programmes or applications, services, or features that you choose to connect or link to your Dubu Dubu account, such as information regarding your usage of such programmes, applications, services, or features; and
  • Specific services provide information on you, such as demographic and market segment information

Concierge Service. Other businesses or entities may occasionally request you a Dubu Dubu ride. When an organisation has used our Concierge service to order a ride for you, they will provide us with your contact information as well as the pickup and drop-off locations of your ride.

Referral Programs. Friends encourage friends to start using the Dubu Dubu Platform. If you are referred to Dubu Dubu by someone, we will collect information about you from that referral, such as your name you’re your contact information.

Enterprise Programs. We will acquire information about you from your company or various organisations that participate in one of our Dubu Dubu Business enterprise programmes if you use Dubu Dubu through them. This includes your name and contact information.

Other Users and Sources. Other users or third-party sources, or the public, such as law enforcement, insurance, journalists, or pedestrians, may give us information about you, for example, as part of an incident investigation or to offer you help.

How We Make Use of Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide the Dubu Dubu Platform 
  • Maintain the Dubu Dubu Platform’s and its users’ security and safety
  • Provide contact support
  • Build and maintain the Dubu Dubu community
  • Respond to legal proceeding and obligations
  • Improve the Dubu Dubu Platform

Providing the Dubu Dubu Platform. We use your personal information to make our platform more intuitive, useful, efficient, and worthwhile. To accomplish this, we will use your personal information to:

  • Identity verification, account maintenance, settings, and preferences
  • Connecting you to your rides and tracking Progress of your rides
  • Calculate Charges and Process payments 
  • Communicate with you about your rides, ride experience and Feedbacks
  • Allow Riders and Drivers to communicate about their rides and opting to share their Ride details with others
  • Facilitate additional services and programmes in collaboration with other parties, and
  • Run competitions, prizes, and other promotions
  • Feedback and rating about your experience

Maintaining Dubu Dubu Platform and its Users Security and Safety. Our platform, both on the road and in our apps, is driven by providing you with a secure and safe experience. To accomplish this, we will use your personal information to:

  • Authenticate User Credentials
  • Verify the Drivers and their vehicles to meet the safety requirements
  • Inspect and sort out incidents, accidents, and insurance claims
  • Encourage safe driving and prevent risky behaviours
  • Detect and prevent fraud; and
  • Block and delete potentially dangerous or fraudulent users (Riders and Drivers) from the Dubu Dubu Platform

Provide Customer Support. We strive hard to give you the greatest experience possible, by providing assistance when you need it. We utilise your personal information to accomplish this:

  • Inspect and support you in resolving any queries or concerns you may have about the Dubu Dubu Platform.; and
  • Provide you the necessary support and respond to your queries

Build and Maintain the Dubu Dubu Community. Dubu Dubu strives to be an active member of the community. We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Inform you about upcoming events, promotions, elections, and campaigns
  • Assist with the facilitation of donations made through the Dubu Dubu Platform; and
  • To promote and build the Dubu Dubu Platforms, promotions, elections, and campaigns, personalise and deliver content, experiences, communications, and advertising

Taking Action in Response to Legal Proceedings and Obligations. In relation to the services we want to offer, the law, governmental bodies, or other regulatory bodies occasionally place demands and duties on us. In such a case, we might make use of your personal data to satisfy those requirements or obligations.

Improve Dubu Dubu Platform. We are constantly striving to enhance your Dubu Dubu experience and offer you brand-new, practical features. We use your personal information to achieve this:

  • Conduct analysis, testing, and research
  • Prevent, identify, and fix hardware and software faults and problems
  • Develop new products, functionalities, alliances, and services

How We Share Your Data

We never sell any of your personal information to third parties. We may need to disclose your personal information to other users, third parties, and service providers in order for the Dubu Dubu Platform to function properly and to be improvised. A. Sharing Between Dubu Dubu Riders and Drivers

Driver information shared with Rider: When a Driver accepts a request for a ride, we will provide the Rider with the Driver’s name, profile photo, rating, current location, and the make, model, colour, and number plate of the vehicle.

Driver receiving Riders information: The Rider’s pickup location, name, rating, and Phone number are all shared with the Driver when a ride request is received. We inform the Driver of the Rider’s destination they enter into the Dubu Dubu app for the pickup. We finally give the Driver the Rider’s rating and Feedback when the ride is over. (When we share ratings and feedback with drivers, we erase the identity of the Rider associated with it, but a driver may be able to identify the Rider who supplied the rating or feedback).

If you report a lost or recovered item to us, we’ll try to put you in touch with the appropriate Rider or Driver. If you give us permission, we’ll even share actual contact information.

Rides Requested or Paid For by Others. When someone requests a ride for you, we may share some or all of your ride details with that other party, including the date, time, charge, rating given, region of the trip, and pick-up and drop-off locations of your ride, if you take one of those rides using your Dubu Dubu Business Profile account, a code or coupon, a subsidised programme (such as transit or government), or a corporate credit card linked to another account.

Referral Programs. We will notify the person you have referred to the Dubu Dubu Platform that you were the source of the referral. When you register with Dubu Dubu Platform as a Rider withe Referal code, a referral source can be eligible for a bonus.

B. Sharing With Third-Party Service Providers for Business Purposes

Depending on whether you are a Driver or a Rider, Dubu Dubu may share the following categories of your personal data with a third party for a commercial purpose in order to provide you with a range of features and services on the Dubu Dubu Platform:

  • Personal identifiers including your name, address, phone number, date of birth, Aadhaar number, information from your driver’s licence, vehicle details, and auto insurance information
  • The banking details for the payment that you provide to us, including your bank account number, and tax information
  • Commercial data, including ride details, driver/rider feedback and statistics, and transaction history
  • Information about your use of the Internet or other electronic networks, including your IP address, your browser type, your operating system version, your carrier or manufacturer, your device identifiers, and mobile advertising identifiers; and
  • Location details

To achieve the following business goals, we disclose those types of personal data to service providers:

  • Managing and servicing your Dubu Dubu account
  • Delivering customer service
  • Handling the Rider transactions
  • Processing or handling rides
  • Processing Driver applications and payments
  • Identity verification of the users
  • Detecting and fraud prevention
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Providing loyalty and promotional programs for the Drivers
  • Providing marketing and advertising services to Dubu Dubu
  • Providing financial assistance
  • Providing required / requested emergency services
  • Providing analytics services to Dubu Dubu; and
  • Developing the Dubu Dubu Platform through internal research

C. To protect the Dubu Dubu Platform and for legal reasons

  • Comply with any applicable laws and regulations, civil, criminal, or regulatory inquiries, investigations, or legal proceedings, as well as any enforceable governmental requests
  • Respond to legal proceedings like court orders, subpoenas, summonses and search warrants.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Cooperate with law enforcement authorities with any behaviour or activity that we sincerely feel may be in violation of federal, state, or local laws
  • As needed or permitted by law, exercise or defend legal claims, safeguard our rights, property, interests, or safety as well as yours, other people’s, or the general public’s rights, property, interests, or safety

D. In Relation to a Sale or a Merger

In the course of discussions or in connection with a change in corporate control, such as a reorganisation, merger, or sale of our assets, we might share all the personal information we collected about you. 

E. Upon Your Further Permission

We may share your personal information with a third party or for other purposes with your consent or at your instruction.

How Your Information Is Stored and Protected by Us

We retain your personal information on our files, for as long as it is required to deliver services with Dubu Dubu platform to you. So long as you keep your account active, we retain your profile information. To guarantee that we can carry out our legitimate business functions, like accounting for tax requirements, we keep transactional information, like ride and payment details, for at least seven years. We will erase your information in accordance with the “Deleting Your Account” section below if you ask us to do so. We take appropriate and reasonable precautions to safeguard your personal information. We cannot, however, guarantee the security of your information, including against unauthorised invasions or actions by third parties, because no security mechanism can be foolproof.

Your Options and Rights With Regard To Your Data

You can exercise certain data rights that offer you some control over your personal information through Dubu Dubu and your mobile phone settings, including the ability to access, modify, and delete your personal information.

A. All Users (Riders and Drivers)

Push Notifications. Through the settings on your smartphone, you can choose not to receive push notifications. Please be aware that turning off push notifications may affect how you use the Dubu Dubu Platform (for example, you might stop getting notifications when your ride arrives).

SMS texts. Receiving text messages with advertisements or promotions is an option. Additionally, you can choose not to receive any SMS from Dubu Dubu (including relationship or transactional communications). It should be noted that choosing not to receive any texts may affect how you utilise the Dubu Dubu Platform. By texting STOP in response to a driver SMS, drivers can also choose not to receive communications specifically for them. You can type START in response to an SMS unsubscribe confirmation to reactivate text messages.

Location Details. Through your device’s system settings, you can stop from sharing location data. However, if you do, you may not be able to utilize all the features and services offered by Dubu Dubu platform. Although you can choose to turn off location services, once you have completed your ride request.

Tracking Cookies. You can change your browser’s cookie settings, but you might miss out on some Dubu Dubu Platform services if you delete or refuse to accept our cookies.

Profile Details. By going into your account settings and profile, you can examine and change some of the account information you have decided to add to your profile.

Do Not Track. You might have a “Do Not Track” option in your browser that lets you tell website, web application, and service operators that you do not want them to monitor your online actions. “Do Not Track” requests are not presently supported by the Dubu Dubu Platform.

Account Deletion. You can choose to delete your Dubu Dubu account through the mobile application. In rare circumstances, such as those involving trust, safety, or fraud, we won’t be able to cancel your account. When we delete your account, we could keep some of your information in order to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, legitimate business needs, or both. For instance, we might be required to keep your information as part of an ongoing legal claim or to handle open insurance claims. When we keep such data, we do it in a way that limits how it might be used later.

Your Right to Know – You have a right to know and see the information we have gathered on you, such as:

  • Personal information types that we have gathered about you
  • The different types of sources from which your personal information is collected
  • The commercial or business reasons for collecting your personal information
  • The different types of third parties with whom we have shared your personal details; and
  • The specific amount of personal information we have collected about you

Your Right to Delete – You have the right to ask us to remove any personal data we hold about you, and you can ask our service partners to do the same. Nevertheless, there are a few exceptions, such as where the data is required for us or a third party to carry out any of the following:

  • To Complete your transaction
  • To Provide you a service;
  • To carry out a deal we have with you
  • To maintain your security and bring those responsible for breaches to justice
  • To fix any bugs our system may have
  • To defend your right to free expression and the rights of other users
  • To conduct public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research that complies with all other applicable ethics and privacy rules in the public interest
  • To comply with a legal obligation; or
  • To use the information in other internal and authorised ways that are appropriate to the circumstances in which you gave it

Additional Rights. You have the right to seek specific details about how we disclosed your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing needs throughout the previous year. This once-per-year request is cost-free. Additionally, you have the right to be free from prejudice if you exercise any of the aforementioned rights.

Online Enquiry Form: To exercise your rights, you can write to us. Some rights need us to ask you to log in and authenticate your account in order to reply, or we may require you to provide information about yourself or your account in order to otherwise verify your identity. Timing and format of responses. We strive to respond within 2-3 business days of receiving a consumer request for access or deletion. If we need extra time, we’ll write to let you know why and how long the extension will last

Children’s Data

Dubu Dubu does not intentionally gather personal information from users under the age of 13, and it is not intended for children. We will take efforts to remove any personal information that a child under the age of 13 may have provided if we become aware of it. Please get in touch with us if you think a minor under 13 may have provided us with personal information.

Third-Party website links

Links to other websites may be found on the Dubu Dubu Platform. They might have privacy rules that are different from ours.
